BI MS SQL Data Developer

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a BI MS SQL Data Developer on a 3 months contract with a possibility of an extension.

Main purpose of post

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating MS SQL databases, data migration and transforming data from legacy products. This is a hands-on role, and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working on MS SQL/PostgreSQL databases, data development and highly complex data extracts. Experience of using SSIS would be beneficial in terms of data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of our state of readiness against CSDS technical output specification
• Detail gaps in our collected data through current operational processes, granularity, data quality and outputs against the TOS
• Formulate data migration plan onto SQL Server
• Develop Schema for migration onto new database to include all source data, as fields, tables, and relations
• Develop analytical views to support performance reporting
• Develop routine monthly XML output in line with NHS Digital CSDS requirements (Submitting extracts to Systems and Service Delivery (SSD).
• Full documentation of new process and outputs

Skills/Qualifications

• Significant experience querying relational databases using MS SQL.
• Proven experience with database design and development including metadata management and the development of effective testing processes and procedures
• Experience managing, developing, building data warehouses including source to target mapping and documentation
• Data interrogation skills
• Significant experience of similar data transformation work from legacy systems through to SQL data warehouse and development of data to support operational and managerial reporting and analytical requirements
• Ability to work with customers to understand and document business requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of working and actively participating in an agile development environment
• Knowledge of relevant data protection legislation and data security
• Experience of compiling and submissions of XML NHS Digital Statutory Returns
• Experience of CACI Cygnum or similar products
