Business Analyst – Agile Implementation (Project)

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst – Agile Implementation (Project) on a 5 months contract with a possibility of an extension.

Main purpose of post

• Analysing current working practices within the analysis phases of the project and how these outputs are exposed and shared with the wider project;
• Recommending improvements to current practices and any training required to support these improvements.
• Deliver training and mentoring to other more junior business analysts within the team
• Lead analysis phases within the project to ensure embedding of improvements

Responsibilities

• To undertake analysis of current operating practices within the platform team with particular focus on the requirements capture and synthesis phases carried out by business analysts within the platform team.
• Where improvements in the above are identified, lead in the implementation of the improvements, whilst transferring skills/knowledge to internal staff.
• To lead at least five analysis phases with a trained member of the digital design function to embed best practice.
• To participate in the agile development programme, attending sprint planning meetings and advising on forward planning.
• To carry out analysis activities on other transactions on digital platform backlog as agreed as part of sprint planning

Skills/Qualifications

• The consultant is expected to have both excellent business analysis experience and agile delivery experience.
• They should have excellent experience working as part of multidisciplinary teams to GDS / user centred design principles.
• They must have excellent communication skills – both oral and written – and an ability to communicate with all levels and translate complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
• In addition, experience of working within a Local Authority and an understanding of the political and governance processes within local government projects.
