Purpose of the role –
Need experienced worker who is able to manage a complex case load, be confident with court work and work within a busy team. Worker will need to carry out statutory duties and manage a case load which includes CP, CIN and LAC.
Up to date professional and technical expertise in relation to children.
Knowledge of complex social work theories and values, and research and how to apply these in practice using the latest and most relevant evidence.
Thorough and up to date knowledge of proposed and actual legislation, statutory regulations and Government guidance and standards relevant to children.
Pre or post qualifying Children’s Social Work experience within a statutory or voluntary setting.
Experience of direct work with children undertaking assessment of need and risk.
Extensive experience of successfully managing the most complex and challenging cases.
Significant and demonstrable post-qualification experience Qualification Professional qualification in social work and must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (or any successor body)
Gained accreditation in one of the following or equivalent:
Heart of Practice training and accreditation (internal candidates)
Practice Educator training
Accredited CPD equivalent training
Approach families with empathy, compassion and creativity using relationships for positive change
To be curious, sensitive, and reflective as well as being authoritative, professional and tenacious in improving life outcomes for children, families and carers
Use a systemic approach to work purposefully, openly and compassionately with the whole family system.
