Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service on a 3 months contract with a possibility of an extension.
Purpose of the role –
The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) is a national police unit that works to protect communities in the UK from the harm of vehicle finance crime and associated serious and organised crime.
As a centralised, specialist police capability, NaVCIS is a leader in providing a national intelligence and investigative support capability to the police service in respect of tackling vehicle finance crime and co-ordinating and professionalising the police response.
NaVCIS, is based at the College of Policing – Ryton-on-Dunsmore.
Responsible for a budget of £1.8m and a team of 30 staff/officers, based across the UK, this role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience working at a national level as well as working with a range of law enforcement agencies and private and public sector stakeholders to deliver the NaVCIS business plan.
This role is a unique opportunity for the police service with individuals working and leading in a forward thinking environment, developing commercial awareness and business acumen, while experiencing different approaches to problem solving and operational delivery.
Reporting to the NaVCIS Governance Board, chaired by the NPCC National Vehicle Crime Lead on strategic planning, risk mitigation and operational delivery, this is a posting or secondment to a unique role at a critical time and will be not only challenging but a fascinating development opportunity.
