HR Advisor – L&D Support

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a HR Advisor – L&D Support on a 2 month’s contract with a possibility of an extension.

Job Purpose.

To work with the Head of HR and HR Consultant to continually improve the learning and development support provided by the Council, and assist the Council to deliver its priorities and enable staff to work to their highest potential

Main Accountabilities.

• Manage the delivery of a comprehensive range of e-learning solutions across the Council
• Coordinate the Council’s Corporate Induction, design and deliver the manager induction, evaluating and reviewing to meet changing needs of the organisation
• Design and maintain supporting materials/resources to support induction
• Support and advise managers on a range of learning & development activities
• Promote the Councils guidance on self-directed learning
• Design and delivery of training to individuals or groups of employees as and when the need arises
• Training on new online appraisal system
• Coordinate the annual in-service education scheme
• Coordinate the staff awards as part of the staff engagement scheme
• Maintain and regularly update L&D pages on Council intranet
• Participate as an assessor for Assessment Centres adopted by the Council in the recruitment of its senior managers.
• Promote and monitor the Councils Performance Management Development scheme
• Maximise the impact of learning interventions by ensuring learning is evaluated and embedded across the Council.
• Work with Directors, Heads of Service and other stakeholders as appropriate to provide support for specific pieces of work

Knowledge, Skills and Experience.

• CIPD qualified in the HR/L&D field
• Very IT literate inc Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• E learning experience
• Able to develop SAP Success Factors and E-Learning
• Experienced in working closely with and advising, senior officers and stakeholders
• Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively using a wide variety of media and methodologies, including written, oral and visual means of communication
• Well-developed interpersonal, persuasion and negotiating skills
• Ability to think strategically
