Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Building Surveyor on 3 months contract with a possibility of an extension.
Purpose of the role –
Building Management is responsible for the building management and facilities management function of the Council. Working with a variety of professional functions, this role will ensure that excellent forward planning takes place to support the maintenance and management of the Council’s buildings and the development of a Council-wide Asset Management and Maintenance Strategy.
Experience in working as a Building Surveyor looking after the maintenance and management of Corporate (non-housing) buildings
Experience in the Local Government environment
Full Working Knowledge Of Building Regulations
Knowledge and understanding of building design, specification and maintenance including sustainability
Relevant professional level qualification
Experience required in the field of building repair and maintenance, plus minor works projects to non-housing properties.
Use in AutoCAD or similar would be an advantage.
Experience of working in Building Management with a good understanding of Health and Safety, routine and preventative maintenance and building compliance.
Good basic knowledge of construction.
Ability to collect and evaluate data and formulate into reports.
Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and deliver work effectively.
Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
Formal qualification in Building Surveying or related area such as degree, diploma, formal trade apprenticeship or extensive experience in a similar role.
Formal qualification in Health and Safety NEBOSH certificate
Full driving licence.
