Senior Project Manager

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager on a 3 month’s contract with a possibility of an extension.

Job Purpose.

We are looking for an outstanding Senior Project Manager to help deliver the Council’s ambitious People Programme. Waltham Forest is an ambitious Borough. Driven by the culture and the innate creativity of our residents, we have developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council. We have recently launched our ambitious People Strategy 2021-2025 and are working closely with our staff to help shape its delivery and bring to life our values. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join the People Programme team to support the delivery of the strategy and ensure our organisation is leading the way, living our values and adapting to meet the needs of our workforce to deliver the public services of the future. You will have experience of running and managing complex projects and change initiatives.

You will be a successful and respected leader, able to lead and inspire teams in both traditional and matrix working arrangements. You will work collaboratively with colleagues from across the Council to develop detailed delivery plans, understand interdependencies with other key corporate initiatives, and to help ensure the changes are aligned and work to deliver the ambitions and aspirations of the Council’s Reset agenda. Evidence of successful working with, supporting and influencing senior stakeholders is essential.

Main Accountabilities.

• Plan and organise work to ensure the delivery of those aspects of the service for which responsible.
• Undertake/support consultation procedures. Identify issues, resolving as appropriate and escalating complex problems if necessary.
• Collate process and analyse complex information. Ensure all required records and information are maintained correctly.
• Prepare and present results / responses / reports / recommendations
• Provide authoritative advice, guidance and support to colleagues, customers and stakeholders. Respond to and investigate enquiries / escalated complaints.

EXPERIENCE:

• • Experience of managing large-scale projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of managing complex business change projects through effective change management and business analysis methodologies, tools and interventions at all stages of the process.

  • Experience of delivering projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
  • Experience of report writing and communications for a variety of audiences, demonstrating numeracy and literacy, and applying expert knowledge.
