BI Data Information and Performance Manager

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a BI Data Information and Performance Manager on a 2 year fixed term contract.

Main responsibilities:

The purpose of the Data Information and Performance Manager is to support and develop the data maturity of our Supporting Families programme and Early Help system.

This includes:

• Coordinating the maturity of the framework for the collation, matching and analysis of complex data sets from partners, service systems and databases.
• Gathering, analysing and responding to service, partnership and regulatory data and analytical requirements.
• Helping to deliver solutions that drive forward our ambitious business intelligence vision.
• Developing productive relationships with national networks, key strategic partners and operational services that result in identifying opportunities for progressing data maturity and aligned joint action plans.
• Leading on the design and delivery of a variety of business intelligence and reporting solutions using both traditional (MS SQL, SSRS) and modern (BI) tools, technologies and methods.
• Coaching and managing a small team of Data, Reporting and BI Developers/Analysts.
• Collating data and creating data structures and warehouses for the purpose of supporting performant and reliable Business Intelligence solutions.
• Setting high-standards for our BI and reporting approaches as well as the management of the underlying data stores supporting – and carrying out appropriate peer review and quality control of solutions against these standards.
• Management and ongoing continuous improvement of an existing and new portfolio of standard reports, dashboards and business intelligence solutions.
• Delivering customer-specific requirements as part of an implementation / onboarding project or as part of business-as-usual.
• Supporting day-to-day performance, maintenance and monitoring of our databases and BI platforms.
• Understanding our people and processes as well as business problems and opportunities and using this contextual knowledge to translate business requirements into technical solutions tailored and appropriate for the audience.
• Consulting as part of project processes to define reporting and BI requirements, suggesting enhancements as appropriate.
• Highlighting opportunities based on your understanding of the business and knowledge of our data for where reporting, analytics or BI solutions can help to improve business performance

Essential skills required:

• Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a similar data insight / reporting / business intelligence related role.
• High degree of proficiency with MS SQL, SSRS.
• Experience of using Power BI desirable.
• Highly motivated with a curiosity to understand business process and problems to identify opportunities.
• High aptitude for database schema design.
• Critical thinking and analytical mindset to problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
