Energy Projects & Programmes Officer

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for an Energy Projects & Programmes Officer on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

The Energy Projects & Programmes Officer post supports the work of the Energy Services Team by delivering energy and carbon-saving projects and supporting the delivery of the team’s wider work, which may include assessing energy statements of planning applications, providing energy-related advice to other departments, as well as any other tasks that supports the delivery of the team’s objectives.

Core activities include:

• Delivering a range of energy and carbon-saving projects, including building retrofit projects (such as installing heat pumps, solar panels, LED lighting, new glazing), expanding district heating networks and overseeing feasibility studies by external specialists.
• Preparing reports, statistics and other information as required.
• Carrying out analysis of energy-related datasets using Microsoft Excel.
• Reviewing energy statements of planning applications to ensure planning policies related to energy have been correctly implemented and providing verbal and written feedback to staff in the Planning department and developers on their submissions.
