Financial Support Co-ordinator

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Financial Support Co-ordinator on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Main purpose of the role:

You will be responsible for helping clients access resources and develop sustainable financial strategies to improve their financial well-being. This role requires empathy, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of financial principles.

You will deliver support to vulnerable individuals and families including:

• Regular engagement to build sustained, trusted relationships.
• Holistic financial assessments to plan appropriate intervention packages that reduce debt.
• Empowering residents by taking a strengths-based approach and centring support around client objectives.
• Keeping accurate records of client conversations and outcomes to measure the impact of the work and inform how we improve our approach.
• Identifying and overcoming barriers to accessing appropriate local and national services to improve financial outcomes.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable residents in hardship and debt.
• Knowledge and understanding of debt and benefit legislation to ensure appropriate interventions are put in place.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of working collaboratively with partner services and organisations to deliver holistic support.
• Strong empathy, negotiation and influencing skills particularly around developing packages of support and managing stakeholder priorities.
• Experience of working in a multi-agency environment and the ability to work in partnership with a range of agencies and professionals.
