Head of Finance

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Head of Finance on a 3 months contract with the possibility of extension.

Main responsibilities:

• To lead the Finance Team.
• To deputise for the Director of Finance as required
• To coordinate the monthly budget monitoring process in liaison with Heads of Service and Directors. To be responsible for the production of accurate and timely financial performance information, budgets and forecasts. To report the same to EMT and Board making recommendations as appropriate.
• To lead on the preparation of budgets
• To be responsible for the closing of accounts process
• To actively manage all aspects of the company’s cash flow
• To lead a programme of value for money reviews, in partnership with the business, based on reliable and up to date benchmarking data.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Director of Finance, Executive Management Team and Board Members on all aspects of financial performance.

Requirements:

• Substantial management experience, including successful management of people and resources in a climate of change.
• Proven achievement of providing and managing financial support services within a medium or large organisation.
• Extensive experience in the preparation of budgets, financial plans, monitoring information and financial statements
• Full CCAB qualification or equivalent.
• Local Authority experience
