Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Landscape Architect on a 3 month contract with the possibility of further extension.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

To assist in the provision of a cost effective, proactive and responsive landscape and regeneration service to the client.
To co-ordinate and programme the provision of landscape, play, environmental improvement and regeneration schemes.
To design and implement landscape, environmental improvement and regeneration schemes.
To assist in the development of major strategies and regeneration projects, including the preparation of exhibition and presentation material.
To advise on the landscape and play aspects of planning applications.
To design and implement new landscape, environmental improvement, play and regeneration schemes in the Borough. Including the preparation of drawings, specifications and schedules/Bills of Quantities, the inspection of works onsite, and administrative and cost control aspects of all contracts.
To co-ordinate the consultation process on each scheme, in liaison with the relevant client officer if appropriate, including the production of all exhibition material and the attendance at public meetings.
To prepare briefs for the engagement of consultants for landscape/urban regeneration schemes.
To achieve improvements in the urban and rural environment by working in partnership with people in the public, private, voluntary and business sectors; via grant aid and business sponsorship.
To assist in the development of major strategies and regeneration projects, including the preparation of exhibition and presentation material.
To give advice on the landscape and play aspects of planning applications.
To appear as a professional witness at Informal Hearings and Planning Appeals
Monitor and review the performance of contractors.
To participate in corporate initiatives, client’s projects and working groups, leading to the implementation of departmental and corporate decisions, including major strategies and projects

The role include the ability to work from home on average 40% of working week, and we are open to discussions about working hours.
