Planning Enforcement Officer

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Planning Enforcement Officer on an initial 3 months contract with the possibility of further extension.

The salary is from £40/hour and upwards, depending if you choose PAYE or Umbrella.

Main accountabilities

• Manage a large and complex planning enforcement case – load.
• Make unaccompanied site visits, including those involving complex land use issues, immediately recognising breaches of planning control (including breaches of S106 Agreements, etc).
• Decide on expediency and course of action, liaising with the planning Enforcement Manager and/or Planning Service Manager where necessary.
• Write letters to contravenor(s) and complainant(s), outlining the client’s course of action
• Be able to effectively enter into negotiations with the contravener to remedy complicated breaches of planning control.
