Senior Internal Communications Officer

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Senior Internal Communications Officer on a 3 months contract with the possibility of an extension.

As the Senior Internal Communications Officer, you will be:

• Supporting the delivery of the client’s staff engagement communications activities across our channels and events.
• Delivering communications activities to support over-arching goals and specific projects.
• Promoting the cultural change narrative through internal communications campaigns and channels.
• Working collaboratively with the external communications teams, Organisational Development team, other engagement partners and stakeholders to deliver the client’s objectives and priorities.
• Driving innovation and using your creative skills to engage staff.

As a Senior Internal Communications Officer, you will have:

• Knowledge of the issues facing local government and those relevant to service/functional responsibilities.
• Ability to develop, manage and deliver complex staff engagement communications campaigns and projects, to meet service requirements and to ensure the best outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship-building skills and an ability to communicate clearly and accurately to a variety of internal audiences to shape and improve communications.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from across the organisation.
• Ability to understand and role model positive behaviours in line with client’s values.
• Clear understanding and commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all media.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience of delivering multi-media campaigns, especially digital and video.
• Ability to work as part of a high functioning, high output team.
