Operational Commissioning Manager

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for an Operational Commissioning Manager on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.

As Operational Commissioning Manager you will lead and manage a specialist team of commissioning officers to oversee a range of commissioning, procurement and contracting activities for adult social care to ensure placement sufficiency and improved outcomes for vulnerable adults.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the client has a good understanding of needs and performance information so that we are able to target resources and prioritise effectively. This intelligence will also be used to support strategy development and inform commissioning decisions.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting the directorates with operational commissioning decisions by establishing and maintaining robust and effective commissioning arrangements across the service and with related partner agencies.
To develop and maintain positive relationships with health, housing and social care providers, ICS and staff, carers and advocates and elected Members.
To maintain an awareness of developments in legislation and best practice relevant to the commissioning specialism and develop proposals for organisational improvement as appropriate to level.
To lead the development and implementation of business systems, processes and policies in order to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives and contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery; improving sufficiency and maintaining a cost-effective market.
To understanding our local market of care providers, stimulating a diverse range of care and support the sustainability of the sector to maximise outcomes.
