Energy Advisor / Home Energy Advisor

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for an Energy Advisor and a Home Energy Advisor, both on a 3 months contract with the possibility of further extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the provision of a fuel poverty and energy advice service, including providing comprehensive sustainable energy and affordable warmth advice to the vulnerable clients and signposting/referring to relevant grants and schemes. To assist in the delivery of the Seasonal Health Intervention Network (SHINE).
• Supporting other staff members with home energy visits to advise on saving energy and water, fit smaller energy efficiency measures and identify potential for heating and insulation measures.
• Using a variety of methods to persuade and encourage shifts to more energy and water efficient living and to reduce fuel and water poverty including the provision of advice and information, training courses, workshops, and outreach work.
• To market the client’s advisory services to potential clients and referrers. This includes researching and targeting promotional materials, co-ordinating and delivering promotional activity (presentations, events and training sessions).
• To maintain information systems and ensure material is updated
• Liaise with the public and other bodies
• To carry out regular reviews of work programmes in conjunction with management
• To undertake reception/telephone duties, as required.
• Carrying out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the client’s Health and Safety Policy and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Producing letters, reports, and notices and keep records.

Requirements:

• This role will require the undertaking of City and Guilds Energy Awareness course Level 3
• Enhanced DBS (or are willing to apply for one)
• Knowledge of a variety of energy saving measures which can be undertaken at home
• Knowledge of financial assistance available for energy efficient improvements at home
• Experience working with vulnerable people to better their situation
