FRA Project Manager

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Fire Risk Assessment Project Manager on a 3 months contract with the possibility of further extension.

Job purpose:

To support the Housing Assets Compliance Team in delivering Fire Risk Assessments and its remedial actions with expected outcomes to ensure housing buildings are safe and compliant with the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Act 2021, as part of the client’s strategic objectives.

Main accountabilities:

  • Lead on the delivery and management of the FRA programme and remedial actions/works at pace as required.
  • Manage multiple aspects in relation to the FRA project/s, ensuring they are delivered to quality, on time and to cost as per the agreed outcomes.
  • Provide specialist fire safety advice and coaching to colleagues to support the delivery of their projects
  • Support the Compliance Team in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance
  • Secure compliance and engagement with the programme amongst the necessary stakeholders
  • Monitor and control the approved FRA completions and FRA remedial actions in accordance with delivery plan/timescales
  • Support the wider fire safety programmes with the other Asset Teams to ensure that they meet their objectives and address any issues as appropriate.
  • To report on programme activity progress to different audiences and strategic boards as necessary.
  • Review project deliverables and those responsible for them.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing projects through effective management and business analysis methodologies, tools and interventions at all stages of the process.
  • Experience of project delivery through overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and encouraging them to meet personal and organisational objectives.
  • Experience of delivering projects and products using the appropriate housing management data systems, portals and platforms, project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
  • Experience of report writing and communications for a variety of audiences, demonstrating numeracy and literacy, and applying expert knowledge.
  • Possess in depth understanding of the latest trends in managing projects and stakeholders’ involvement in a large complex organisation improving business systems and processes.
  • Ability to act as a lead advisor for FRA remedial project delivery and provide coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Be effective at planning, monitoring and reviewing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, activities and responsibilities at the same time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in an organization including senior managers.
  • An ability to respond to unpredictable volume of work, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives.
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow through.
  • Possess strengths in organisational, attention-to-detail, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a cross-functional project workgroups/ teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet the objectives of the organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload and work with the minimum supervision
  • Holds one of the following -NEBOSH General Certificate, Level 3 Fire Safety qualification or a NEBOSH Construction Certificate, surveying, contract management or equivalent standard and has a demonstrable experience.
  • Previous experience in Social Housing, health and safety compliance or similar environment/role.
