Instrumentation Engineer

Working on begalf of a well established client, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer on a permanent basis.

Our Client is a dynamic company that provides Engineering Consultancy and Design Services to organisations in the energy sector. They are passionate and committed to the learning and development of our people making sure they have the right skills and knowledge to be successful and to help achieve their potential.

As an Instrumentation Engineer you will be required to undertake an Instrumentation design role on high pressure pipeline and plant systems, working to high engineering standards within the budgets and timescales set by the clients. The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out electrical designs.

Requirements:

• Experience working within utility, pipeline or related industries,
• Good working knowledge of the applicable design codes including BS6739 – Code of Practice for Instrumentation in process control system: Installation design and practice and British Standards.
• Electrical / Electronic Engineering degree, and be registered with an appropriate institution.
• Be working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

In addition, it would be advantageous if you had knowledge / experience of the following:

• Autocad 2D
• ATEX / DSEAR Compliance
• Intrinsically safe system
• SCADA / DCS Systems (Hardware, and awareness of software)
• Formal Process Safety Assessments i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, HAZCON, SWDS
• Safety Integrity (BS EN 61508 / BS EN 61511)
• Knowledge of BS 7671 would be an advantage.

Please note that our client is a design consultancy company, so they are only interested in Design Engineers (not hands on installation / commissioning engineers).
