Senior Building Control Surveyor

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has new opportunities for a Senior Surveyor, Surveyor and Assistant Surveyor on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide high level, expert professional/technical advice and guidance in Building Control to colleagues, managers, and partner agencies.
• Lead by example in modelling and embedding the client’s values and behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders to help build a sustainable highly effective organisation and develop our reputation as a successful client delivering great value for its
• Responsible for advising the public on building control matters and processing applications under statutory Building
• Carrying out inspections to achieve statutory compliance.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in building control (Fire and structures)
• Significant stakeholder liaison experience
• Be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Building Regulations in respect of all projects up to and including those which are large complex
• Familiarity with IT and computer systems
• Ability to identify and resolve problems, with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance and building control regulations
• Building or Planning related Degree or other approved qualifications
• Full Membership of any of the following: RICS, ICE, IStructE, CABE, CIOB or similar approved
