Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Defects Coordinator on a 3 month contract with the possibility for further extension.
Purpose of the job:
⦁ To support Housing in the administration of the defects period for new developments ensuring effective defects management system that delivers a quality service to new tenants.
⦁ To be part of a joint approach to ensure that new properties available are let efficiently and in accordance with the client’s allocations scheme and other set objectives.
⦁ To analyse and report upon performance data relating to defects to identify areas for improvement.
⦁ To be part of a service wide approach to improving defects performance.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
⦁ To be a supportive and expert resource to enable Housing to achieve excellent standards.
⦁ To gather and analyse data on void and repairs performance from a range of sources and report findings accurately, in designated formats and within set timescales.
⦁ To identify areas for service improvement and issues of concern, make recommendations of corrective actions.
⦁ To lead on specific project implementation tasks for service improvement ensuring that tasks are managed, completed and reported on, in an efficient, effective and accessible manner.
⦁ To lead or provide assistance in project planning and associated issues such as risk management, estimation and resource allocation.
⦁ To implement and maintain efficient IT system applications and/or tracking systems for collecting, collating and indexing information and data from a variety of sources such as performance information, property data, and voids data.
⦁ To create and carry out programmes to train to staff on IT systems, procedures and best practice relating to voids and repairs.
Requirements:
⦁ Hold a suitable qualification such as an NVQ in Customer Care Level 3 or similar and have working knowledge of building defects, current legislation and related technical practices to enable successful defect diagnostics and understanding of defects resolution as well as their impact on the business.
⦁ Capable of working under own initiative, with strong communication skills to influence the right outcomes for the business and ensure the ability to summarise detailed information and effectively communicate with customers, team members and others.
⦁ Committed, flexible and self-motivated and with strong team working skills and able to build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
⦁ Excellent verbal and written English and strong IT skills with the experience in using Microsoft applications, essentially Excel and Word to allow the ability to interpret and diagnose reported defects and maintain relevant databases to the role.
⦁ Proven experience in delivering excellent customer care by working in a similar role within the Housing and/or construction industry with commitment to setting and delivering high standards with a clear understanding of the importance of customer service.
