SEND Communication Co-production and Engagement Manager

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a SEND Communication Co-production and Engagement Manager on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the parental and young people’s engagement and co-production programme to ensure that co-production is embedded in policy and procedure and at the heart of SEND services.
• Develop and embed a strong culture of case level and strategic co-production with children, young people and families with SEND through role modelling, training and observations.
• Support client to engage with, and represent, a broad and balanced range of parent carers to help strengthen services and anticipate need. Support the forum to grow their membership and engage community groups who have previously felt marginalised.
• Create opportunities for the client’s Forum to influence practice and policy.
• Provide a single point of contact for client’s Special Parent’s Forum and support the Forum to engage and influence SEND through innovative means including in person sessions and via social media platforms.
• Take overall responsibility for the Local Offer Officer to deliver a dynamic, contemporary, accessible, fully co-produced, and well-maintained web site. Ensure that the Local Offer is legally compliant and meets the needs of residents, families, and practitioners.
• Ensure that leaders and practitioners, across the partnership, can confidently support families to access the Local Offer.
