Senior Procurement Officer – Generalist

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Officer on a permanent basis.

Job summary:

• Leads on market engagement, analysis and management of a portfolio of contracts
• Uses a combination of subject matter expertise and technical procurement/management skills to ensure best value for money and delivery of outcomes.
• Ensures robust evidence and market sourcing strategies inform decision making and provide good value for money.
• Develops and delivers specific procurement programmes
• Assesses highly complex and sensitive information and presents to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Deputises for Commissioning Manager as required
• Leads on the development of all relevant tendering documentation and support drafting of the appropriate form of contract.
• Manages and develop relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, consultants, and other partners
• Contributes to the Commissioning Governance review process and all other matters relating to the commissioning and procurement strategy
• Provides technical advice on matters relating to commissioning, procurement and contract management
• Supports other areas of the Commissioning and Procurement Team as required

Requirements:

For this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in procurement which has covered the end to end tendering process. Your experience will ideally be from the public sector and you will be politically astute and able to build high levels of credibility. You will have strong stakeholder management skills able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences at varying levels and be able to make an impact quickly. You will ideally have completed or be working towards a degree or relevant professional qualification, preferably Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
